products - Medical / Veterinary / Pharmaceutical
Introduction
Rubber parts used in medical, pharmaceutical and veterinary applications
have stringent quality requirements that include:
- use of tested and approved non toxic compounds.
- manufacture under clean room conditions.
- tight control of production processes to ensure precision parts with
zero defects are manufactured
Resistance to a range of fluids and chemicals is required and elastomer
components must remain relatively unaffected in contact with these chemicals.
Sterilization processes often involve the use of ethylene oxide, gamma
radiation of live steam so elastomer compounds must be resistant to these
materials.
Features and Benefits
- Gulf Rubber has clean room facilities for manufacturing rubber components
to a range of medical requirements.
- Compounds with existing test data on cytotoxicity, bio compatibility
and stability under various sterilization conditions are available.
- A wide range of valves, diaphragms, duck bills, o'rings and general
mouldings are already manufactured for use in the medical, pharmaceutical
and veterinary industries. Gulf Rubber can also assist in developing
parts to perform a specific end use function.
- In house development and testing facilities.
Materials
- One way valves can be manufactured in a wide range of elastomers including
natural rubber, SBR, NBR, EPDM, Silicone, Fluoroelastomer, Fluorosilicone,
Polyurethane and Polyacrylate.
- Materials available with international potable water approvals including
WRAS, WRC, BS6920-UK, ACS Afnor-France, KTW-Germany, AS4020-Australia
& NZ, NSF 61-USA.
- In house compound development to design materials to optimise performance
in customer’s application.
- In house testing of key compound properties for good long term performance
such as stress relaxation, heat ageing, fluid ageing, ozone and chloramine
resistance.
